Who I am

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Third-party sites that I use (Square and Venmo) collect your name, mailing and email address, and phone number that you provide when you purchase my products, services, and classes ,as well as items that you select for purchase.

Comments

I have not enabled the comments section on my blog posts.

Contact forms

If you submit your name and email address through my Mailchimp sign up form on my website, I retain this information for email marketing purposes only. I do not share this information with others.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

By default WordPress does not collect any analytics data. However, many web hosting accounts collect some anonymous analytics data. I use the MonsterInsights Google Analytics plugin to collect data from your visits to my website, and the Google Analytics privacy policy can be found here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245

I have installed the Google Analytics opt-out plugin on my website if you prefer to opt-out of  tracking your data through Google Analytics.

Who I share your data with

My website is through WordPress, which does not share any personal data with anyone. I do not share any health-related information with any other healthcare providers or any other people without your prior written consent.  Any information you provide when you make a purchase through my website is not shared by Square.

How long I retain your data

I keep contact form entries for six months, analytics records for a year, and customer purchase records for ten years.  I keep all client files for seven years.

For users that register on my website, I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). I can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How I protect your data

I have secure passwords for my laptop and tablet that I use to access your data. I also use Norton and McAfee to keep my computer’s security protected.

Payments on the payment processor’s secure page

When a customer places an order, Square sends the order information to the payment processor and then redirects the customer securely to the payment gateway’s website page where they enter their credit card information. When the payment is done, the payment processor sends a reply (callback) containing the payment status to Square.

So, a customer’s payment information is processed on the payment processor side using a secure protocol.

Square will notify me if there has been a data breach of information, and I will notify you within 72 hours of receiving a notice of a data breach from this third party sites.

What third parties I receive data from

I receive your name, mailing, and email address, phone number, and items that you purchase from you through Square when you make a purchase on my website.  I  use MailChimp to gather your name and email address through my sign-up form on my website which complies with the new GDPR law and their privacy policy can be found by going to this link: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

What automated decision making and/or profiling I do with user data

At this time I do not enable any automated decision making or profiling with your user data.
